It debuted at #12 on the Billboard 200, selling 63,000 copies in its first week. The album was certified Gold two years after its release, and Platinum in 2001. It has been considered a landmark album in East Coast hip-hop, and often credited for the revival of the New York rap scene, also often regarded as one of the best hip-hop albums of all time.
